Medically reviewed by:Dr. Matthew TatumIf you are spending hours every day trapped in a cycle of doubt and repetitive actions, you’re not alone in this struggle. Navigating obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) can feel like an endless internal battle where your autonomy is slowly eroded by anxiety. At Aspen View Mental Health,we provide specialized support for northern Colorado residents who are ready to regain control of their lives through intentional, in-person recovery work at our Greeley facility.
While many people search for support near Fort Collins, Colorado, making the short commute to a dedicated center offers a vital psychological boundary between your daily stressors and your healing space. We recognize that true progress requires a secure and supportive environment where you can unmask your fears without judgment, while supported by qualified clinical staff. By choosing a program like Aspen View in Larimer County that emphasizes face-to-face connection and evidence-based treatment, you are investing in a future where your thoughts no longer dictate your reality.
Because every recovery journey is different, we offer various programs that provide the right amount of structure for your needs. We do not offer telehealth, as we believe the most effective OCD work happens in a physical space where you can fully engage with your clinical team with on-site support. Our facility is conveniently located near the west side of Greeley, making it accessible for those traveling along US-34 or Business 34.
Our program options for adults in northern Colorado include:
OCD can interfere with everyday responsibilities in ways that look different across the Fort Collins community. College students may struggle to complete assignments because of repeated checking or perfectionism, working adults may lose hours to rituals, and parents may find intrusive fears affecting routines with their families. When obsessions and compulsions begin limiting daily life, more structured treatment may be appropriate.
Common signs of OCD include:
For Fort Collins residents, recognizing how these patterns interfere with school, careers, relationships, and independence can be an important step toward seeking specialized OCD treatment.
For residents in the Fort Collins area struggling with OCD, the pressure to maintain a high-functioning lifestyle can make the struggle with intrusive thoughts feel even more isolating. Many individuals find that their OCD frequently overlaps with depression as they become exhausted by the constant internal noise. It is also common for this disorder to co-occur with ADHD or various phobias, creating a complex web of symptoms that require a highly coordinated clinical approach.
In some cases, the need for control can manifest in eating disorders or intense social anxiety, where you worry about others noticing your compulsions. The American Psychological Association (APA) notes that individuals with OCD often experience significant shame, preventing them from seeking help early on. By addressing these co-occurring issues together with mental health treatment, our team in Fort Collins can help you build a more resilient foundation for your overall mental health care.

While there is no “cure” in the traditional sense, OCD is a highly manageable condition with the right evidence-based treatment. Most individuals find that after a structured program, their symptoms become much less intense and no longer disrupt their daily life.
While not everyone requires medication, psychiatrists play a vital role in recovery by helping to manage the chemical side of anxiety. Many patients find that medication management lowers the urgency of their intrusive thoughts, which makes it much easier to participate in the therapeutic work of ERP and ACT.
It is very common for OCD to focus on themes that are the opposite of your true character – such as accidental harm or moral failure. These are recognized as intrusive thoughts rather than your actual desires, and our clinicians provide a nonjudgmental environment to help you process these fears safely.
The length of treatment varies depending on the severity of your symptoms and the level of care you choose, such as our intensive outpatient program or standard outpatient sessions. Most individuals begin to see a significant reduction in their compulsions within a few months of consistent, dedicated work with their therapist.
