At Aspen View Mental Health, we offer specialized, trauma-informed care for adults struggling with the long-term effects of Reactive Attachment Disorder (RAD) in Greeley, Colorado. While often diagnosed in childhood, RAD’s underlying patterns can persist well into adulthood—impacting emotional regulation, interpersonal trust, and the ability to form healthy relationships.
Our adult RAD treatment integrates psychotherapy, attachment therapy, DBT, EMDR, and more—rooted in a compassionate, clinical approach tailored to the challenges faced by adults living with unresolved attachment issues. If you’re searching for RAD treatment near you, our Greeley clinic offers multiple levels of trauma-informed care for individuals seeking clarity, connection, and healing.
Reactive Attachment Disorder is typically associated with early childhood trauma—often stemming from inconsistent or neglectful caregivers, abuse, or systemic disruptions like foster care or child welfare placement. However, when left untreated, those early wounds can carry over into adulthood.
Adults living with unresolved RAD may experience chronic relational difficulties, emotional detachment, mistrust, or an intense fear of abandonment. Many have struggled for years without knowing the root cause of their emotional and interpersonal challenges. These patterns often contribute to co-occurring mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, and even substance use as a form of self-regulation.
Recognizing RAD in adulthood can be complex because it often overlaps with other diagnoses like borderline personality disorder, PTSD, or autism spectrum disorder. However, some key signs may include:
The emotional and neurological disruptions caused by early attachment trauma can ripple throughout a person’s adult life—manifesting in chronic loneliness, self-sabotaging behavior, emotional dysregulation, and substance abuse.
Professionally, individuals with RAD may struggle with authority figures, teamwork, or managing workplace stress. Personally, they may oscillate between idealizing and devaluing others, leading to cycles of unstable relationships or emotional isolation. Without interventions, these patterns often repeat—blocking the development of secure attachments and sustainable emotional well-being.
Aspen View Mental Health provides evidence-based treatment specifically designed for adults living with the lingering effects of RAD. Treatment is individualized and may include:
Each treatment plan is built around the client’s history, current symptoms, and unique needs, with clinical oversight every step of the way.
